The Human Electromagnetic Field and the Heart-Brain Connection

I'm particularly interested in working from the level of the heart in my work as a sound and shamanic healer. Through meditation and frequencies we can develop the heart-brain connection in order to develop our skills of living through our heart rather than reflecting from just the intellectual level. With practice we can create expansion of heartfelt emotions- compassion, love and joy, in order to improve our wellbeing. By cultivating these emotions within ourselves we can gain our heart's perspective on life, improving our relationship with ourselves, our intuition and with the people in our lives.

This article explains the heart-brain connection and just how powerful it's magnetic field is:

"The heart's communication with the brain is particularly extensive. Its magnetic field is 5000 times stronger than that of the brain [2] and electromagnetic signals travel from the heart to the brain almost instantaneously allowing for exceedingly rapid responses that help regulate brain physiology [3] and make the heart a central node of cognitive and emotional information [1]."

Something interesting I have been experimenting with is tapping into this when dealing with someone that feels negative energetically or anyone I find a bit challenging. As we talk, I imagine my heart sending out waves of love and compassion to them. Whenever I do this I feel them open up immediately! As someone who really enjoys interacting with just about anyone it can frustrate me when I'm not getting much in return, even if it's just the sales assistant in Halfords! I really relish connecting with other humans. I feel it's so important for our daily wellbeing and even more pertinent as our world becomes more technologically based and therefore evermore isolating. A simple smile or casual chat from a stranger can really lift my spirits!

"The heart's magnetic field is also perceived by every cell in the body [2] and can be detected up to 5 feet from the body. When other people and animals receive this energetic information, a phenomenon known as "frequency locking" occurs in which the cardiac energy of one person becomes synchronised with the brain activity of a nearby person [3]. Additionally, our bodies act as receivers of electromagnetic energy from our surroundings, including the earth's natural magnetic fields generated by the molten iron at its core [4] and, more recently, wired and wireless appliances and devices."
